Understanding Cannabis
Product Types
Cannabis products come in various forms, each with different characteristics and methods of consumption:
- Flower: Traditional dried cannabis buds for smoking or vaporizing
- Edibles: Cannabis-infused foods and beverages with delayed onset
- Concentrates: Highly potent extracts in various forms
- Topicals: Lotions and balms for localized application
- Tinctures: Liquid extracts taken orally or sublingually
Cannabinoids & Effects
Cannabis contains hundreds of compounds, but THC and CBD are the most well-known. THC is the primary psychoactive compound, while CBD is non-intoxicating. Different strains and products offer varying ratios and effects. Start with low doses and wait to understand how products affect you before consuming more.
Responsible Use
Start Low, Go Slow: Especially with edibles and new products, begin with the lowest dose and wait at least 2 hours before consuming more.
Do Not Drive: Cannabis impairs coordination and judgment. Never operate a vehicle or machinery under the influence.
Keep Secure: Store all cannabis products in child-resistant containers, out of reach of children and pets.
Know Your Limits: Everyone's tolerance is different. Pay attention to how products affect you personally.
Medical Conditions: Consult with your healthcare provider if you have medical conditions or take medications.
